Flight Explorer and CTA Deliver Complete Product Integration
Flight Explorer Booth #124; CTA Booth # 501 at NBAA 14th Annual Schedulers and Dispatchers Conference
Anaheim, CA - February 3, 2003 - Flight Explorer®, the world's leading provider of Internet-based real-time flight tracking information, reporting and display products, and CTA, the leading developer of flight operations software announced today that they have fully integrated their flagship software products- Flight Explorer Professional® and FOS/NT (Flight Operations System for Windows NT/2000/XP). The announcement was made at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) 14th Annual Schedulers and Dispatchers conference in Anaheim, CA.
CTA's FOS/NT is a comprehensive flight operations management and support system for corporate, charter and government aviation, as well as regional airlines, aircraft management and fractional ownership companies. FOS/NT's live electronic schedule board can replace "the board on the wall", and it's color-coded timeline gives a graphical view of aircraft and crew utilization and availability. Flight Explorer is the maker of Flight Explorer Professional®, the easiest, most robust and reliable aircraft situation display in the industry. With only a personal computer and Internet access, commercial users and others providing aviation services can use Flight Explorer to track aircraft anywhere over the U.S. (including Alaska and Hawaii), Canada, the UK, New Zealand and portions of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Flight Explorer Professional updates aircraft positions every minute and refreshes screen views every 10 seconds.
Integration of the products provides enormous timesaving benefits to corporate flight departments and air charter operators that use Flight Explorer and FOS/NT. Users of both can monitor all aircraft of interest in near real-time, and updates can be made immediately as changes occur. It also eliminates the need for double entry of information since data is automatically updated from one system to the other. For example, within Flight Explorer, "My Fleet" can be immediately updated with all of the scheduled flights within FOS/NT. FOS/NT gives single click access to flights in Flight Explorer and can extract actual arrival and departure times for automatic posting to FOS/NT's flight log data. The products are automatically integrated when installed.
"Flight Explorer and FOS/NT have become indispensable tools in aviation companies of all types," said Johan Segring, information system specialist and former dispatcher at Pentastar Aviation, a corporate, charter, and aircraft management flight department that uses both products. "Full integration of the products will mean greater efficiencies for our team and better service for our customers."
Walt Kross, president and CEO of Flight Explorer, said, "We're excited to work with CTA to make two great products, FOS/NT and Flight Explorer, work more seamlessly together for the benefit of all of our customers. We can save them time and help them improve safety and efficiency through better and more fully integrated products. This is an important step."
Fred Powell, Sr., president of CTA, said, "Integrating our software with other programs is strategic for us and our customers. We are delighted that Flight Explorer is a key member of our program interfaces, and an excellent example of the increased functionality derived from making the two programs work together."
