Fairfax, VA and Orlando, FL – September 10, 2002 – Flight Explorer®, the world's leading provider of Internet-based real-time flight tracking information, reporting and display products, today announced an agreement with Atlantic Aviation that will enable the company to provide up-to-the-minute tracking of its charter planes as well as aircraft at its eight fixed-base operator (FBO) locations. The announcement was made at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Convention in Orlando, FL.
“We’re very excited to put Flight Explorer to work in tracking aircraft at our many sites,” said Sue Sommers, Atlantic Aviation vice president of sales and marketing. “It will enable us to anticipate more accurately the effects of air traffic, weather and other factors on the arrivals and departures of our aircraft. It all adds up to better service to our customers in the air and on the ground.” FBOs perform corporate/private aircraft servicing and ground handling agent services at airports for scheduled, non-scheduled and chartered airlines.
Walt Kross, CEO of Flight Explorer, said, “Flight Explorer Professional and Select Edition will be powerful tools for Atlantic Aviation and it will make a big difference in all of their operations. Atlantic has an excellent reputation for quality service and we’re delighted to work with them.”
Flight Explorer is the maker of Flight Explorer Professional and Select Edition software, the easiest, most robust and reliable aircraft situation display in the industry. With only a personal computer and Internet access, commercial users and others providing aviation services can use Flight Explorer Professional to track aircraft anywhere over the U.S. (including Alaska and Hawaii), Canada, the UK and portions of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Flight Explorer Professional updates aircraft positions every minute and refreshes screen views every 10 seconds. Flight Explorer Select Edition provides many of the key features of Flight Explorer Professional.
