Flight Explorer Launches Flight Snapshot, a Graphical Display That Gives Airport Customers a True Picture of All Incoming and Outgoing Flights

Fairfax, VA and New Orleans - May 21, 2001 - Flight Explorer®, the world's leading provider of Internet-based real-time flight tracking information, reporting and display products, today announced the launch of Flight Snapshot™. Flight Snapshot is a service that allows a client to provide a real-time graphical view of their aircraft and airspace for public view on their web site, airport kiosk or central display. The display, which is updated every five minutes, can be customized to show various combinations of overlays including weather, aircraft tags, airports, origins, destinations, ETAs and much more. The service was announced at the American Association of Airport Executives Conference (AAAE) in New Orleans.

Flight Explorer is the maker of Flight Explorer Professionalâ„¢, the easiest, most powerful and reliable aircraft situation display in the industry. With only a personal computer and Internet access, anyone -- from a major airline dispatcher, fleet operations or airport manager, even an aviation authority -- can use Flight Explorer Professional to track, in real time, aircraft anywhere over the U.S. (including Alaska and Hawaii), Canada, the UK and portions of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Flight Explorer Professional information is updated every 10 seconds.

Flight Snapshot is the latest addition to Flight Explorer's growing suite of airport and public display product offerings. Like Flight Explorer Professional, Flight Snapshot can be accessed on a PC in a home or office as well as in airport kiosks or other customer-convenient locations. Also, it can be incorporated into a client's Web site. Images can be automatically delivered to a client's server on a periodic basis without the customer having to host or set up any additional software, or Flight Snapshot can be provided as a turnkey product to run at a client's own site. The Flight Snapshot image can be customized to show a specific geographical area, specific flights and any combination of available overlays such as weather and actual distance from the airport.

"Flight Snapshot greatly improves the air travel experience," said Walter Kross, CEO of Flight Explorer. "It enables airports to provide better information and a higher level of service to their customers in a non-interactive way. It gives airline passengers a more accurate picture of the air traffic situation and the status of their own flights. It can also be a great feature for travel- or leisure-related Web sites, TV news program traffic and travel reports and other media."
