In Brief

Flight Explorer, a Fairfax company that offers Internet-based flight-tracking and information systems, is teaming up with Intiex, a data integration company with offices in Rockville, to offer a range of services to airports. Flight Explorer's flagship product lets subscribers view on their computer screens the location of airborne planes in the United States, Canada and Britain. Intiex helps companies exchange similar data and is creating a clearinghouse so airlines can honor each other's electronic tickets, even though each airline has its own e-ticketing system. Flight Explorer and Intiex said in a statement that combining technologies will provide airlines with more accurate arrival and departure data for their billing systems and more affordable multi-user flight information displays.
