Hawaiian Airlines to Use Flight Explorer to Monitor Flights to U.S., South Pacific and Australia

Alexandria, Va.– May 17, 2005 – Flight Explorer, the world's most trusted and accepted provider of Internet-based, real-time global flight tracking information, reporting and display products, today announced that Hawaiian Airlines is the latest major air carrier to become a Flight Explorer customer.

Based in Honolulu, Hawaiian will use Flight Explorer Professional within its operations center to monitor flights from Hawaii to the U.S. mainland, the South Pacific and Australia. By using Flight Explorer, Hawaiian Airlines can more effectively manage its flight operations, apply its staff and aircraft more effectively, and reduce its operating and fuel costs. Hawaiian is also able to display NEXRAD weather on Flight Explorer Professional for a common operating picture that will enhance safety and efficiency.

"Hawaiian’s 75-year safety record is second to none, and FE Professional has added another dimension to our systems protecting that record,” said Stan Pitts, Manager of Dispatch of Hawaiian Airlines. “Seeing live traffic and approaching weather real time in our System Operations Control Center is allowing us to communicate with our pilots as if we are in the jump seat next to them."

Walt Kross, CEO of Flight Explorer, said, “We’re very excited to work with Hawaiian Air. Better flight operations and more effective use of resources mean even better service for their customers.”
