Flight Explorer Adds Canada Weather to Flagship Flight Tracking Product
Customers using Flight Explorer Professional now have access to both U.S. and Canadian weather patterns and data
Arlington, Va. and Calgary, Alberta, Canada - July 9, 2003 - Flight Explorer®, the world's leading provider of Internet-based real-time flight tracking and weather information, reporting and display products, today announced that it has added data and graphics depicting Canadian weather patterns to its flagship product Flight Explorer Professional ™. The announcement was made at the Canadian Business Aviation Association's 42nd Annual Convention in Calgary, Alberta, Canada
The new service will include data from Canadian weather radar and infrared satellite imagery. It will enable users to pinpoint the weather in a small geographic region of the country – as small as 2 kilometers – to get the most accurate weather picture possible. The weather data will be updated every 15 minutes and provide the same level of detail as the U.S. weather offering.
Walt Kross, CEO of Flight Explorer, said, "Flight Explorer has an important and growing market in Canada. We have been able to provide flight tracking information for that country for many years. In response to customer demand from our northern neighbors, we are excited now to add precise and accurate weather to the service."
Flight Explorer's Canadian customers include major and regional airlines such as WestJet Airlines, Air Canada Jazz, air charter operators and fixed-base operators (FBOs).
Flight Explorer is the maker of Flight Explorer Professional®, the easiest, most robust and reliable aircraft situation display in the industry. With only a personal computer and Internet access, commercial users and others providing aviation services can use Flight Explorer to track aircraft anywhere over the U.S. (including Alaska and Hawaii), Canada, the UK, New Zealand and portions of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Flight Explorer Professional updates the aircraft positions every minute and refreshes the screen views every 10 seconds.
