Flight Explorer Professional™ Edition 6.2 Offers New Weather, Delay and Diversion Alerts
McLean, VA. – August 16, 2006 – Flight Explorer (FE), a global flight tracking, information technology and communications solutions provider to the aviation community, today announced the release of Flight Explorer Professional™ Edition 6.2. With Version 6.2, Flight Explorer has added an alerting capability that allows customers to receive proactive alerts based on Meteorological Aerodrome Reports (METARs), Runway Visual Range (RVR) data, FAA airport delays and real-time diversions.
FE Professional is the industry's most accurate, reliable and widely-used Aircraft Situation Display (ASD) system. The system goes beyond “flight tracking” by incorporating multiple data feeds, dynamic weather overlays, situational alerts, forecast weather and air traffic tools to make FE Professional an essential flight operations management system.
“The alerting capability provided in Version 6.2 will help our customers make proactive decisions based on changing operational conditions at an airport due to weather, delays or diversions,“ said Flight Explorer CEO Jim Kelly. “As these decisions have a high impact on the efficiency of their operations, Flight Explorer is happy to continue to provide our customers with the decision-support tools they need to enhance the performance of their business.”
In Version 6.2, Flight Explorer is also introducing an animated TAF weather overlay and graphical TAF Bar™. Both of these features allow customers to view worldwide 24-hour forecast conditions graphically to help them make better, more informed flight management decisions.
In addition to the features listed above, FE Professional Edition 6.2 has added valuable product enhancements that include new Airport Summary features, Route Check functionality and event and alert filtering capabilities.
