New 3D Global Flight Tracking and Online Reporting Tool Now Available in Flight Explorer Professional™ Edition 7.5
McLean, Va. (May 15, 2007) — Flight Explorer (FE), a global flight tracking and IT solutions provider to the aviation community, today announced the release of Flight Explorer Professional™ Edition 7.5. With Version 7.5, Flight Explorer has added advanced 3D global flight tracking and aircraft and airport activity history reports.
FE Professional is the industry's most accurate, reliable and widely-used Aircraft Situation Display (ASD). The system goes beyond “flight tracking” by incorporating multiple data feeds, dynamic weather overlays, situational alerts and predictive weather and air traffic tools to make FE Professional an essential flight operations management tool.
“The new features and products available in Version 7.5 provide significant value to our growing customer base of air carriers, FBOs and airports,” said Flight Explorer CEO Jim Kelly. “We look forward to continuing to expand upon the display, flight information and weather tools available in our ASD to meet the operational requirements of our customers across the commercial and business aviation industry.”
Key Version 7.5 additions include:
Global 3D Flight Tracking - FE Professional users now have the ability to visually depict the flight plan, route flown and aircraft range rings globally in 3D. This allows users to see the altitude component of an aircraft's planned and actual route of flight in relation to other airspace conditions. Clear visualization of the altitude dimension can provide otherwise unseen options for optimization and delay avoidance. In addition, in 3D mode, all aircraft are fully interactive including the tags, destination leader line and full right click context menu.
Online Reporting Tool (ORT) – Users can now view up to a 90-day report on the flight history of specific Aircraft ID or of arrivals and/or departures for a specific airport which can be further filtered by aircraft type or airline. The selectable details provided in the reports include the textual flight plan, origin and destination airports, departure and arrival times (planed and actual), owner registration information, and a graphical flight summary including route flown and flight plan. The ORT also supports the export of text data to Microsoft Excel and graphical flight summary data to Google Earth.
Dynamic Airport Range Rings – Users can now customize airport range rings to support ETOPS operations and visually depict them on both spherical and flat projections.
424 Data Set – Version 7.5 now integrates a fully verified, industry standard Worldwide Navigation Database to ensure the most accurate, up-to-date information is always at your fingertips.
FE Professional 7.5 also brings with it updates to key data sources, as well as other enhancements in response to requests from FE’s global customer base.
